When I say heavy music for adults I mean music that has real weight to it without the trappings of the “metal genre” or all the bells and whistles that go with it. Blue Record is a more of a sonic landscape than an album, with a thick guitar driven sound that builds bridges of pure groove across vast and dark space chasms. I know I’ll probably get kicked in the teeth for this but Blue Record is the album that Mastodon wished they had written.
