Description and tracklist

Seventeen garage and psychedelic cuts from 1966–1969, from regional 45s to a 1968 acetate. Columbus’s Four O’Clock Balloon opens with “Dark Cobble Street,” recorded after the band won a local battle of the bands. The Frantics take the set to Norman Petty’s Clovis studio with “Relax Your Mind,” while The Whatever pile organ and reverb onto “The Valley of Death.”

Side B brings the heavy fuzz of The Premiers’ “Get on This Plane,” a raw acetate take on “Heart Full of Soul” by The Other Side, and the acid-punk blast of The Peabody Hermitage’s “Fear.” Stu Mitchell and Wes Dakus’ Rebels close with “Acid.”
